Cooking Instructions (for Chakka Puzhukku)
Follow these simple steps to recreate the traditional recipe printed on the pack:
Boil: Bring 2 liters of water to a boil in a large pot.
Cook: Add the 250g pack of dried jackfruit. Let it cook for 15–20 minutes until soft.
Drain: Once cooked, turn off the heat and drain any excess water.
Prepare the Masala (Arappu): * Ingredients: 1 bulb of garlic, green chilies (to taste), curry leaves, turmeric powder, and ½ a grated coconut.
Method: Coarsely grind these ingredients together in a mixer (do not grind into a smooth paste).
Mix: Add the coconut mixture to the cooked jackfruit and mix thoroughly. Serve hot.
